Bergdahl kept in dark cage for months

(personally, I hope they keep him in Germany for a while, until some of the vomit from Faux and the GOP has been cleaned up)

As Bowe Bergdahl Heals, Details Emerge of His Captivity

WASHINGTON — Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has told medical officials that his captors locked him in a metal cage in total darkness for weeks at a time as punishment for trying to escape, and while military doctors say he now is physically able to travel he is not yet emotionally ready for the pressures of reuniting with his family, according to American officials who have been briefed on his condition.

detainees in Gitmo. One I recall, had lost his mind and was unable to participate in his trial, one of the few who actually WAS tried. They were kept naked, kept in the dark, kept from communicating with anyone, other than the guards who routinely mocked them, etc.

I am amazed you do not recall the horror stories of torture and the battle over the videos, ordered released but held up for years in litigation. Rumsfeld admitting that if the people were to see them, it could cause outrage and 'harm' to the US.

There were women who were raped, in Abu Ghraib, children sodomized, there is video, seen by members of Congress. in fact after viewing them, Lindsey Graham emerged white faced, and in a rare moment of humanity, told Dick Cheney who was bablling away about 'patriotism' blah, whatever, opposing the hearings on Abu Ghraib, Graham said 'Let us do our job, we are talking about RAPE, MURDER here'. Of course since then he has managed to get hold of himself, or someone else did. We have not yet seen those videos, so bad, way worse than the original shocking videas, that they are being kept from the public.

Thanks to all those who have not stopped trying to get justice for these victims. I have been following the torture of detainees for the past decade or more.

'Caged'. I believe there is an excellent website that keeps track, or tries to, of the human beings we buried in that hellhole for over a decade.

Yes, they were treated worse than animals. How quickly we forget.

Airc, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of videos from Gitmo that have never been seen yet, by the public.

And there are the detainees from Britain and other countries who were released, who have testified to the horrors they endured in our gulag in Guantanamo.

A vast majority of those in Gitmo were INNOCENT, which is why there were so few trials.

Not to mention those who were tortured to DEATH. I recall that Rummy 'sat in' on a torture session, for whatever reason. And he roams free, as do the orchestrators of the torture program.

But I am encouraged to see that the Spanish Court, I believe, may proceed with its prosecution against the torturers, held up when the US pressured them to drop the case.
