On her sixth birthday, an Omaha girl was shot Thursday night, police said.

Adults with Taelor Sentress did not wait for an ambulance. They drove the young girl, with blood on her face, to Creighton University Medical Center themselves.

She had serious injuries, but they were not believed to be life-threatening, said Officer Kevin Wiese, a police spokesman.
Taelor was later taken to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, where she was listed in good condition late Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
