Paradoxical Quote of The Day From Ben Stein:"Fathom the Hypocrisy of a Government
that requires every citizen to prove
they are insured... but not everyone
must prove they are a citizen."
This, of course, is supposed to 'prove' to me that Obama and the Democrats are wrong.
Right wingers are unabashedly ignorant, illogical, stupid, and senseless.

Now the right wingers want us to be exactly like the nations they used as examples of lack of freedom.

(21,043 posts)I told him that I've tried both healthcare systems: the current, prohibitively expensive system in the U.S., and the single-payer healthcare system of Europe (since I lived there), and that the latter is better in every respect HE (the right winger) could possibly think of. Then I invited him to name any aspect of healthcare and I would illustrate for him why single-payer is better than what currently exists here.
I ADDED that although what's being suggested is not single-payer, that it's heaps better than no health care at all, and will avail healthcare to people who currently have none at all.
I also added that Ben Stein is an asshole who is equating apples with oranges. The immigration issue has nothing to do with health care.
Further, I pointed out that Ben Stein's ancestors, and his (the right winger's) own PARENTS were all immigrants. In fact, the right winger's father came in illegally. This came out in a conversation we had, and I do believe that if the right winger had it to do over again, he'd take back what he had told me, given that I'm now using it against him.
That's a bit of what I responded to him with.

"Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings."
