I don't but the thought occurred to me so I'm asking:
Every now and then someone winds up looking dumb because they quote a prank April Fools story. And it happens all year 'round with stories from The Onion.
Any such stories from today that look ripe for leaving someone's ass hanging in the wind?

By scarce
As TV Newser mentioned earlier today, Sarah Palin will be co-hosting on Tuesday.
Melissa Harris-Perry and her guests were somewhat incredulous at the news, figuring it had to be an April Fool's joke. The dumbing-down of American media continues.

(9,535 posts)April 1, 2012 (El Cajon ) Before El Cajon became an incorporated city back in 1912, horse racing down Main Street was a popular pastime. The towns saloons also attracted visitors including gold miners and cowboys from the backcountry. But Temperance Society members and women, who had just won the right to vote, lobbied the new city council to ban both practices.
Now, however, El Cajon announces a bold new plan to revive the citys ailing economy and boost tourism in its centennial year by bringing back a long-lost feature from the past: vice.
Since vice was a proven economic boost, were returning to our historic roots, Mayor Mark Lewis announced in a press conference held outside the El Cajon Brewery, a drinking establishment recently opened with help from public funds. This place has been so popular, we realized its time to change our zoning laws. Soon we will have saloons up and down Main Street, he proclaimed. (Full story at the link above)
Note: This is a town run by conservative Christians on the Council who have actually banned smoking and playing cards in public, among other things.
