George Clooney Is Planning To Move Into Politics After Marriage to British Lawyer Amal Alamuddin

George Clooney is planning to move into politics after his marriage to Brit lawyer Amal Alamuddin, according to reports.

A friend of the Academy Award winner said that the actor had big ambitions and aimed to get into politics imminently, the Mirror reported.

The pal added that the 53-year-old actor wanted to do more humanitarian work and hoped to join the Democrats' 2016 election campaign.

The friend further said that Clooney was thinking of how he could get more involved and now that he had Alamuddin by his side, it will give the actor more credibility to run for office. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/english/hollywood/news-interviews/Is-George-Clooney-planning-to-move-into-politics-after-his-wedding/articleshow/35835255.cms

Is George Clooney planning to move into politics after his wedding?
is the actual title of the article.

Love the "sourcing" on this piece-- "a friend" also called "a pal"--but of course, no names.

Sounds like a bit of filler fluff, to me.

Clooney has always been involved in campaigns, fundraising, things of that nature. The insinuation is that he'd run for public office.

That's a huge pay cut. I rather suspect that won't happen.

I doubt he would take such a pay cut but who knows? Perhaps he has enough $$$

Not buying the article, but once you have more money than you can spend in 1,000 lifetimes, I can see just following the heart and doing something you like - pro bono even.

He had been a real champion about raising awareness in Darfur...

And he might even be more involved with this new bride. I don't think he'll get out of the film business, though. I can't see him pulling an Al Franken.

The headline, in essence, is pure clickbait. It asks a question and cites "a pal" as authority. It says nothing but it offers a nice picture of a movie star--pure cotton candy.

Times of India does this a lot. They're not the only ones.

Lots of stuff in his closet - Affleck's too.

If this is true - which I don't believe it is . . . He couldn't make it past a primary.

We (the Left) aren't forgiving of shenanigans the way Republicans are. He couldn't get through a primary.

But there's buzz in LA that this marriage is strictly "strategic". Friend who is an Entertainment Attorney out there that does some work for a few entertainment sites as well as agents.

Bradley Cooper is another one whose past would catch up.

And Stacey Dash recently got her job at Fox due to knee pads in a fling with an A List level Republican.

The last piece was a sophisticated wife (and not the parade of model girlfriends) who can handle the press. He wouldn't have made it with Stacy Keibler.

His main asset is that he doesn't need it. He can run a campaign for shits and giggles and still be filthy rich. If he loses, oh well. And his skeletons are pretty much expected of a big time playboy Hollywood type.

I really doubt he has the skeletons others are so sure are there.

He's smart, articulate and compassionate. What more could we ask for?
