Sure he has a big ego. But he's a true blue liberal that is the ONLY one who goes after Billo regularly, Coulter, Blubbo Rush, etc. I watched Countdown religiously since it started and I think Current sucked. Not Countdown--Current. I kept waiting for it to get better and it never did. The set crashed. The lights would go out. The cameras would be ill-positioned sometimes. And worst of all, KO or someone would be mid-sentence and a commercial would start.

It sucks, it's poorly run, and I predict it will eventually go by the wayside. Yes KO has an ego, along with every one of the primadonna talking heads on tv. So what?

FWIW: I love Al Gore. I also like Jennifer Granholm, Elliot Spitzer and Cenk Uygur. But without KO pulling me there I won't watch regularly. I'm back to MSNBC.

I remember him as a doing sports on a local TV channel...before he went national or political. He was a bit of an asshole even then.

Did he not stand up for the issues we find most important when nobody else would? Why are you so quick to throw him under the bus?

I don't think Al Gore is the problem, here. Check out Joel Hyatt, the partner who is most involved in the operations at Current. He has an unpleasant history with regard to employee relations.

Does Joel Hyatt have anything to do with what any former employers, co-workers, staff, and employees who have worked with Olbermann say about himalso ?

Did Joel Hyatt force Olbermann to be in breach of any previous employment contracts, years before CurrentTV even existed?

Does Olbermann get a pass for reportedly being enormously difficult to work with just because he says things that you might agree with?

Does KO remain blameless for his situation, or is he just misunderstood?

I am saying that calling him a nut job is unfair.

I will be forever grateful for the special commentaries he did during the dark days of the Bush Administration that made me stand up and cheer and gave me a sense that maybe the whole world had not gone crazy after all. In appreciation for those times and his unflinching support for other issues so very important to me, I will not judge his employment decisions or join in on the personal attacks.

and we're supposed to care...why?

KO will land on his feet - he's a great entertainer with a loyal audience.

Current/Gore will be fine - bringing in KO changed the direction of the network, energizing it - they have some great talent, and finally, some true potential.

So let it go, already. Why does this matter? Have we nothing better to focus on? Sheesh...

it might have helped, if he showed up. I watched him from start, TWICE.
I remember the night he got cut off by the commercial, shit happens, but he had to make a remark
about it. Couldn't let it go, poor guy was probably nervous, knowing Olberman was on the set.
I wonder how he would do on a real job, instead of just reading a telepromptor. Hell he can't even drive .

He needs to start writing political books and articles for publication. We know he can write and we know he can make it interesting. All he needs is a desk, a computer with Word and a laser printer. He shouldn't have any problem getting a literary agent due to his fame.

He will be able to work for himself. He won't need a boss or a staff. Let's face it, he does not have people skills, can't schmooze to avoid friction in the work place and is basically a loner. KO has the talent and education to do it, so although I will miss his commentary on the TV screen, I can pick up a book or magazine to read whatever insights he brings to current affairs.
