but all I saw was a couple of planes flying by in a starry night. Nary a meteor. Bummer.

(8,155 posts)Granted, it was less than ideal viewing conditions. But I've certainly seen better showers in the past. I heard someone say it would be 1000 an hour. I've seen showers at half that pace and last night, at least while I was viewing, wasn't even close to that estimate.

(9,437 posts)satellite. But yeah, the meteor shower was only 5-10 per hour but it is a new one so there is that.

(5,668 posts)not the space station either. our forecaster loves mentioning that almost every clear night. and the mosquito's are awful. nope only on july 4th which we don't have anymore

(86,794 posts)for hours and saw one good streamer but it didn't go far or last long. Was definitely a meteor, but I only saw one. I did go in before I wanted to because there was a bear snooping around and I didn't want any trouble.
If it clears up later tonight, I will at least go and see if there's anything going on. there was s solar flare earlier today so there may be an aurora for some tomorrow...?
