Granted, it was less than ideal viewing conditions. But I've certainly seen better showers in the past. I heard someone say it would be 1000 an hour. I've seen showers at half that pace and last night, at least while I was viewing, wasn't even close to that estimate.

My insomniac spouse vetted the situation for me. I sleep like a log, and only wanted to be disturbed if it was crazy awesome. Apparently, it was not.

satellite. But yeah, the meteor shower was only 5-10 per hour but it is a new one so there is that.

that was supposed to potentially blaze across half the sky last year, and ended up going poof.

but we're socked in pretty solid here in the high desert. Points east are going to have a very interesting week, this storm is packing a punch.

for hours and saw one good streamer but it didn't go far or last long. Was definitely a meteor, but I only saw one. I did go in before I wanted to because there was a bear snooping around and I didn't want any trouble.

If it clears up later tonight, I will at least go and see if there's anything going on. there was s solar flare earlier today so there may be an aurora for some tomorrow...?
