Bill Maher: ‘The culture war is over, and we won’
“Folks, we had a televised, celebrated interracial gay kiss during the NFL draft,” Maher said, referring to the selection of Michael Sam by St. Louis. “The culture war is over, and we won. I predict in 5 years, the NFL will be completely gay.”

He also stood up, sort of, for David and Jason Benham, whose deal to host a real estate reality show on HGTV was scrubbed after their Islamophobic and homophobic statements came to light.
“If you’re a Christian, you may condemn their homophobia, but they got it out of the same dumb book which you also revere,” Maher said. “So there’s a little bit of a mixed message going on. So maybe it would’ve worked better to not hound them from their home improvement show and then just let them try and find an interior decorator who will work with them.”
