Im thrilled to announce that Virgin has created another world-first with the introduction of the technology required to produce the worlds first glass-bottomed plane. This technological innovation coincides with the start of Virgin Atlantic Airways first ever domestic service to Scotland.
In 1984 we started the wonderful airline that is Virgin Atlantic. I am incredibly proud of yet another aviation breakthrough which has been years in the making. I cant wait to experience the first flight for myself with my family and other natural born explorers.

(3,523 posts)Exactly one year before announcing that they were teaming with Nest to offer personalized climate control:

And exactly one year after they announced Virgin Volcanic - which would offer trips into the molten cores of volcanos.
They seem to announce their ground-breaking products exactly one year apart to the day. There is some pattern here - If I could just put my finger on it.

(14,881 posts)back in the early-mid 80s, when Digital Equipment was reaching its peak. DECcies would claw their way through brick to merit trips on that baby during fall foliage season. I flew into Boston to pick up my boss's passport or visa or something. The route to Logan included a low pass over the water, where I could see the fish jumping.
I get quesy from the back and forth motion of a copter, but the views were totally worth it.
