to run for the presidency, and she wins the Democratic Nomination at the convention, I will vote for her with pleasure and alacrity.
Everyone who wishes to run in the Democratic primaries should run. That's what I think. It does not now appear that Warren wants to run. That's her choice.
Whoever wins the Democratic nomination will have my enthusiastic vote. I would not vote in any other way. No alternatives are even thinkable. Our nation cannot survive another Republican President.
We have primary elections. Anyone who wants to be President should run in them.
But, that's in 2016, and nobody is going to announce until after the General Elections in 2014. So, I'm not currently concerned about the 2016 primaries.

But I doubt i will have that chance.

(13,685 posts)Or why no chance to vote for her?

(7,820 posts)That actually seems the most plausible scenario. No actually my preferred, but seems likely. And yeah, I'll vote for Hillary in the general.

(146,318 posts)There is so far no equivalent to Barack Obama being talked about for 2016. Obama ran as a populist and brought a lot of new voters to the polls in 2008. I'm not seeing anyone who might do that as I look toward 2016. Truly. On the other hand, Hillary served as Secretary of State and has maintained her public status all along. As near as I can tell, her fans from 2008 are still her fans. A lot of Obama supporters like Hillary, too.
Right now, the two leading possibilities other than Hillary are Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren. Biden is unlikely to win the nomination, and I truly don't believe Warren has enough national name recognition among ordinary Democratic voters to pull enough votes for primary wins. Without a strong primary showing in the early primaries, I'm afraid she would be an early dropout in the primary season.
That's my current assessment. 2016 is a while off, though, so there's always a chance for someone to become a popular candidate. No such person has emerged so far with a strong enough following to knock Hillary out if she decides to run, which I think is very probable.
However, I encourage Warren to run. I encourage Bernie Sanders to switch parties and run as a Democrat, too. It would be good to have them both in the primary races, even though I don't think either has a prayer of getting the nomination. I'd like to see them run in the primaries, though. It would help build interest in the election.
