In America, freedom and democracy are alive and well?

After all, we still have freedom of speech. Of course, you will have to compete with established political Parties and their very wealthy contributors. Does it really matter if you have the "truth"?

With our democracy entrenched under corporate control and with the present bunch of right-wing Judges on the Supreme Court, it has to give pause to any thought about the "will of the people".

To add to the problem, through the process called gerrymandering, the right-wing corporatists have taken over control of many congressional districts with this obviously undemocratic process.

And where they have failed to gerrymander, they have made it more difficult to vote. The most sacred right in our democracy is under assault by these right-wing extremists and their low-information supporters. Not only are they removing names from the voting rolls, they are also requiring special photo IDs to vote, even if you have voted from the same address in the same neighborhood for the last 30 years. To further complicate this simple act of citizenship, they have moved many of the polling places, leaving voters confused and angry.

But, do not be discouraged. We still have the Second Amendment. No one in power would ever question the right of any American to own a gun. After all, it pits one side of America against the other with the threat of violence. One side brandishes their weapons and the other side crouches in fear. The powerful "job-creators" and their sympathizers exchange evil smiles as your democracy turns to a vapor...
