I could have had more people at my apartment if I stuck my head out the door at 4:45pm and announced there would be a pig pickin' in the common area at 5pm.

We don't have them in Oregon. We do have a great beach that you have to wear jackets, sweaters and windbreakers to in the summer, but no pig pickin's.

A pig pickin' occurs after you have cooked a whole pig in a pit or a pig cooker. It's split in half and basted with what BBQ sauce you prefer. The pig is cooked until the meat is easy to pull right off.
