Santorum's "Anti-war Gov't Nig" statement

seems to have been overlooked by the MSM today.

He had better not get away with it. He's an angry, disgusting little excuse of a man who doesn't deserve to be in the same room with our president. And you know this kind of stuff doesn't just slip off the tongue without prior use. I'm sure he speaks like this all the time at home and in front of others like him.

Maybe Big Ed or Sharpton will cover it. Some blogs are saying Santorum meant "governmentnik", all one word like "peacenik". I've never heard that expression used and I've been around a long time. I think this is what Santorum is claiming. If he's ever used that expression before, I've never heard it.

by babbling something that didn't fit. Right. governmentnik. I've heard a couple ridiculous excuses now. None of them work.

They are so polite in public, but in private watch out! I only deal with some of them when I have to (yearly family/social functions) as I cannot stand to be around them for more then oh...a nanosecond?

you escaped it? I guess I should have turned out a right wing bigot. But at a very young age I knew my father was full of crap.

The truth is, I really don't understand the ones who do follow in their detestable parent's footsteps. (Though I try to have a little understanding.) My mother must have had more influence over me than expected. She died when I was 7 so there weren't a lot of years to learn from her. It is another reason to be grateful for the time I did have with her.

that my father, a lifelong Republican and career military NCO, and my apolitical mother made clear to my sisters and me back in the early 60's that the N-word, above all other words, was disgraceful, disrespectful, disgusting, and never to be uttered... not just in their hearing, but ever.

I was very lucky, both my parents are left leaning (have no idea how THEY got so lucky) and raised me to see how insane the GOP's plan for the world is. Actually, the biggest influence in my life was Ronald Wilson Reagan (I was 13). He taught me so much about what an 'evil fucker' really is. I have him to thank for my hatred of the RWing.

Your mother must have been a very powerful person & influence in your life to leave such a good mark in only 7 years.

he's getting a pass on this. I'm usually the last one able to hear these things even when pointed out to me, but this one just screams out at me. If Santorum were a nice guy and had some redeemable value I might understand letting it go. Nah. I wouldn't. It was too damn blatant - the pig. (Where's the spit in his face emoticon?) He disgusts and repulses me even more than the rest of them. One doesn't get a google bomb like he got without richly deserving it.
