Why was George Zimmerman not arrested the night of the shooting?
When the Sanford Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident, Mr.

a prior arrest history?

The Sanford Police Department never questioned Trayvon's girlfriend, even though her parents contacted the cops to tell them she wanted to come in for a sit down interview.

18. Yes, Sarah, there certainly is, even going back to the "founding" of Sanford which was more

a forced annexation of a black town, Goldsboro, that was founded by Black "pioneers". Goldsboro was the second town in Florida founded by Black folks. In 1911, the town was was TAKEN from inhabitants a new charter was composed and the streets, which had been named for the original pioneers that founded the town, were quickly renamed.

Oh, there is a long and storied history of racist issues and curruption that wends it's way through city hall, all the departments and of course, the police department.
And NO, thank God, I am NOT from Florida BUT my paternal grandmother grew up on the reservation in the Everglades, I believe.
