Boy, 17, shot to death after ‘altercation’
by Rachel Delinski, Herald Editor

Police are remaining tight-lipped about a shooting in the Twin Lakes Town Homes neighborhood Sunday that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy.

Sanford Police Spokesperson Sgt. Dave Morgenstern said police are still investigating the incident that left Trayvon Martin, of Miami, dead after what they are calling an “altercation” with a 25-year-old man in the subdivision.

In a press release issued today, police said they have determined that the shooter was serving in the role of a neighborhood watch member when the shooting occurred.

Morgenstern said Martin was in Sanford to visit his father
