Tomorrow is my Senate District Convention in Minnesota.

As the DFL precinct chair for my St. Paul precinct, I emailed all of the delegates from that precinct a couple of days ago to remind them of the Convention. All of them replied and said they would be there. While that may not seem that important, it's notable that only two showed up at the same convention in 2010. On Saturday, we'll be voting on endorsements for DFL candidates for state senate and the state house, and electing delegates to the Congressional District convention for CD-4, which will be held in April.

I'm encouraged by the enthusiasm of those delegates to show up tomorrow. That gives me hope that people are going to be fully engaged for this crucial election in November. I think this is going to be a year of action, rather than apathy for Democratic activists and voters alike. I can feel an energy growing to put the Republican majorities in our state legislature out of business. That energy will also help across the board.

What's happening in your state right now? Are you starting to think about election activism?
