Here's Blue, short for Bonnie Blue Butler, taking care of the little one...she seems to know to be gentle with her. Tentative name, Careen, one of Scarlet O'Hara's sisters, since I have a GWTW theme going. The tortie would therefore be Suellen, another of Scarlet's sisters, but she's neurotic like my other tortie, and won't sit still for photos.
Here is Blue at about five weeks old. I found her in the same area, she was eating the food I leave, and I walked up to her and she ran back down into the caves that the feral moms use as sort of nursery. Anyway, went to get the water, and she was back up so I snuck over and grabbed her...she didn't bite or hiss or scratch, but struggled like mad and I knew I would drop her, so I put her into the big 16 pound bag of food I had and closed it, got her to the car, and into a carrier. She was a tough nut to crack, longest ever to tame, but she's turned into one of the most affectionate kittehs, always greets me at the door, and is always the first to join me in bed. Happy Birthday sweetie!
Here's Careen with Sam and Beau...below is the photo I wish came out better...all looking at the camera, but it's too blurry.

(12,157 posts)She loves looking out windows and has pounced at the screen door because cardinals were teasing her. But she never even thinks about going outdoors and when strangers visit she hides under our bed.
Love your pics and so glad the little tricolor is doing well.

(11,760 posts)My Wife had a stray follow her home.......a pregnant stray......we kept two of the kittens and found homes for the others. The Mom, after weaning, was insanely eager to get back out...so, we let her back out under the supervision of our Veterinarian. She later found a home and stayed there...we found out because we had a chip implanted in her and the new homeowner called to ask.

(22,271 posts)I have 7 but only 2 are inside. Cute babies they are, but then again, I have a special place in my heart for torties. And a hairball to each of the hosts who agreed to lock the other thread and 3 for the one who alerted on it.
