Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol on Sunday said that he stood behind a conspiracy theory that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton could be behind Vanity Fairs recent Monica Lewinsky essay, but then quickly changed the subject to Benghazi.
In a recently column, Kristols publication had asserted that Lewinskys reemergence nowmonths before Hillary is likely to declare her candidacyis probably being stage-managed by some division or other of the vast proHillary conspiracy, whether Lewinsky knows shes a pawn or not.
During a panel segment on Sunday, it was clear that ABC host Martha Raddatz found the conspiracy theory preposterous.
I stand with that guess, Kristol said. Its a little ironic, were having a little lightheartedness.
Okay, how would that work, this conspiracy? Raddatz pressed. Do you sit down with the Vanity Fair editor?
Well, you could, Kristol declared. I think I believe Hillary Clinton knows the editors, and the publisher of Vanity Fair. But thats not the issue. And I dont think Monica Lewinsky will be an issue one way or another.
Benghazi is a serious issue, Boko Haram is a serious issue, he added. Monica Lewinsky isnt.

(4,452 posts)for people like Kristol to be given any credence or any platform to spout their views. He has been so wrong about so may things for so long any betting man would do well to bet against anything he says.
Most of the people I read or listen to that have a history about important world events would never have a voice on commercial US media.
I should qualify my comment on reasonable justification. If you consider the influence of money, those that have and want more, I suppose that would be a reasonable justification.
