I'll be watching a show say, something about Ancient Greece. Then ill end up clicking on a link from that article, and on, and on, and on, and end up at something that has nothing to do with my original curiosity.

Just a caveat. Some articles are very good, others not so much. So wiki has to be checked.

I find wikipedia generally accurate enough on most issues for a good overview.
