George Zimmerman lost job as party security guard for being too aggressive, ex-co-worker says

"George Zimmerman was fired from his job as an under-the-table security guard for “being too aggressive,” a former co-worker told the Daily News."

"Zimmerman, at the center of a firestorm for shooting an unarmed black teenager a month ago, worked for two different agencies providing security to illegal house parties between 2001 and 2005, the former co-worker said."

“Usually he was just a cool guy. He liked to drink and hang with the women like the rest of us,” he said. “But it was like Jekyll and Hyde. When the dude snapped, he snapped.”

"He had a temper and he became a liability,” the man said. “One time this woman was acting a little out of control. She was drunk. George lost his cool and totally overreacted,” he said. “It was weird, because he was such a cool guy, but he got all nuts. He picked her up and threw her. It was pure rage. She twisted her ankle. Everyone was flipping out.”

"The year 2005 was a bad one for Zimmerman: he was arrested for fighting with a cop trying to arrest his friend for underage drinking, and he and his ex-fiancée took out protective orders against each other."

Yet he is allowed to get a license to carry a gun. There are much bigger issues here than just this Zimmerman guy.

WTF with the BROTHER on regurgitating this story? Let him go on himself or STFU. He's "brave" enough to shoot an unarmed teen and then hide behind daddykins -- what a coward!

He looked totally panicked and said something like "obviously you have that information" then threw in these refs about Zimmy being "the only one who never drank at family parties" it was almost like he was going to say "oh but he used to drink and now he doesn't."

Haven't seen that tool Oliver around much last couple of days!

Was he also working as an illegal party security guard?

"Trayvon shooter 'was like Jekyll and Hyde' when he worked as security guard "

The rest of the article remains the same, link the same, just the headline is changed. Do I have to edit the name of the headline, I orginally posted on DU with? Thanks!

Also, does anyone know if George Zimmerman has a job? Thanks!

...for the Latest Breaking News forum (and Good Reads as a courtesy), and if it's changed after publication and isn't a complete distortion or something you're all good.

I believe George Zimmerman was working as an insurance underwriter.

Aloha.

I guess it could be the same job, since they were "illegal parties" and Oliver sounds like a real con man, and not too bright if it gets out he was taking part in anything illegal. I keep wondering whether Oliver was a friend, an acquaintance, or someone Zimmerman's dad has something on or is paying to clean up his son's image.

Pulling strings to get him out of trouble he would not have been legally carrying a pistol. Whether he would have carried it anyway, nobody can say.

I'd really like to see an investigation into just how he got off scot free from the previous charges he was arrested for. If daddy's friends acted improperly I'd like to see them all nailed to the wall.

Zimmerman was charged with domestic violence and a restraining order brought against him by an ex girlfriend. He was also charged with resisting officer with violence and battery of law enforcement officer, both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to resisting officer without violence and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. He was also required to take anger management classes. All that and he's allowed to carry a pistol and work as a neighborhood watchman? How did he get away with that? It had to be his daddy's doing! Something is very wrong here.

ASHCROFT'S NEPHEW GOT PROBATION AFTER MAJOR POT BUST

Although His Arrest For Growing 60 Plants Could Have Landed Him In Federal Prison, Alex Ashcroft Was Tried In State Court And Avoided Jail -- Despite His Uncle's Crusade For Tougher Federal Drug Laws And Mandatory Prison Sentences

The nephew of Attorney General-designate John Ashcroft received probation after a felony conviction in state court for growing 60 marijuana plants with intent to distribute the drug in 1992 -- a lenient sentence, given that the charges against him often trigger much tougher federal penalties and jail time. Ashcroft was the tough-on-drugs Missouri governor at the time.

Alex Ashcroft, then 25, and his brother Adam, 19, were arrested and charged with production and possession of marijuana after police raided their home in January, 1992. A housemate, Kevin Sheely, then 24, was also arrested.

Officials said approximately 60 marijuana plants were found growing in a basement crawl space, and a lighting, irrigation and security system was also discovered. Read more...

Your kid would probably gotten ten years for growing 60 plants.
