http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/blm-wrangler-armed-confrontation-utahAfter two armed men threatened a Bureau of Land Management wrangler on Tuesday in western Utah, workers are removing BLM logos from their vehicles to help avoid additional incidents, the Salt Lake Tribune reported on Thursday.
The wrangler was driving on a highway near Mills, Utah when two people in a pick-up truck pulled up along side the vehicle. The occupants "told him he was No. 1 with that certain gesture," Eric Reid, the wranglers supervisor at the BLM Fillmore Field Office, told the Tribune.
The men then reappeared in the pick-up truck a few minutes later wearing hoods and holding up a sign that read, "You need to die." One of the men pointed a Glock handgun at the wrangler.
According to Reid, the two men put duct tape over their license plate so that the truck could not be identified, a strategy used by Bundy supporters in Nevada.

(9,736 posts)BLM vehicles need to be outfitted with hidden cameras to record all these antics.

(16,093 posts)The license plates were duct taped and the suspects wore hoods...if they decide to kill a BLM employee, what good is a hidden camera going to do?
Besides, if they're willing to take a life, what makes you think they just won't burn the vehicle, once the driver has been killed?

(16,093 posts)They can call this the Cliven Bundy Gambit: Remove all logos identifying an official government vehicle!
The next time the men wearing the hoods may decide that since the local LEO's are probably going to sit on their hands, and the Feds are just trying to avoid an incident...that shooting someone is the next step!
After all they have nothing to fear from any government entity, local, state, or federal...

(16,093 posts)I wouldn't trust the locals, and even the state might not be dependable, this is Utah, and there is no love loss between Utah and the US Government!
That leaves the feds, who haven't really done much about Bundy even though that have court orders! But you never know, miracles can happen.
