Victim blamed for being struck by Police Officer.

One of the fine upstanding honorable members of the Police ran into a vehicle, the officer in question, a highly regarded Deputy, blamed the victim, claiming that she was Operating While Intoxicated.

MILWAUKEE, May 2 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin woman is still fighting to make things right after a sheriff’s deputy allegedly hit her with his car and then arrested her for drunk driving more than a year ago.

Tanya Weyker’s Camry was allegedly struck by Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quiles’ patrol car last February and she suffered a broken neck in the collision.

OK, so now after a year, the truth has come out. The Deputy admitted he was lying and suffered the horrible punishment of being suspended for 9 days. A 9 day suspension for driving into a car, lying about how the accident happened, falsely arresting the victim of his negligence, and sticking to the story until the blood tests demonstrated conclusively that she was not drunk.

Medical bills for her broken neck could run over $1 Million. That's right friends, a million dollars. But according to State Law, the county is only liable for $250,000, or one quarter of the estimate that is probably low.

The Fox (wouldn't it just be Faux) station has this video report. (I wouldn't have used Faux but there wasn't another I could find in a basic search)

Many years ago, I would have said outrageous. Now days, it is just another example, another in a long and seemingly endless list of police lying to cover up their own errors. I wish it was outrageous. I wish it was a rare occurrence. It is all too common.

Lying to police is a felony in Georgia. Turns out it's a crime in Wisconsin too. Yet, this Deputy hasn't been charged. I wonder if the Press will ask the DA why this officer who lied on an official report hasn't been charged with that crime, a crime they charge "civilians" with all the time.

I hope that Tanya sues them in Federal Court for violating her civil rights by injuring her and false arrest. I hope that they have to rename the city Tanyavlle because she ends up owning it.

Some of which, move between other news organizations, both Fox and others, from around the country.

Although there is a problem of sensationalize local news programming out there, everyone plays that game.

However, local Fox stations shouldn't be confused with the cable Fox News Network, which is made up with nothing more than right wing political hacks.
