I have an idea to keep the health care topic in everyones minds.

Chances are the SCOUS is going to either cripple AHA or throw it out completely. What if we were somehow able to put up a 2 clocks/counters similar to the national debt clock in Times Square. One clock that counted the number of people that died due to lack of health insurance and another clock to count the number of people who went bankrupt because they couldn't afford health insurance. It would even be better if there was a video screen next to each clock to show the faces of those being counted on the clocks. Both of the clocks would be put in a prominent position in Times Square. I have no idea how this could be done or even if it's a good idea so I'll just leave the idea here and if someone wants to run with it that's fine with me.

the coverage of healthcare has been mainly the partisan one. The people who are suffering fro lack of access to healthcare are barely mentioned anymore. It has been a one sided discussion ever since it was voted into law.

Too. We need commercials that asks seniors if they can afford another $6,000 a year in Medicare. Or if they could live on half or none of their SSI. Those are real possibilities. And use real pictures of people who died due to lack of insurance and those who went bankrupt over medical bills.

Or make commercials like the sad animal ones. Show homeless seniors and tell their story of how they got there. Or run down hospitals for seniors that cost a fortune if Medicare is cut. Or their kids moving back in with them to help them out with their medical costs. Or seniors who have their children move back in with them because their children are broke from medical costs.
Gotta hit home.

I just know that a month after the Court decision health care reform will be a forgotten issue.

If progressive voters sit out elections both in states and for the Senate this year, there will be no alternative plan if SCOTUS rules against it.

There is nothing to be done now except to contact and SUPPORT those who are in favor of at least maintaining the support of the ACA in other bills.

But I'm hopping it would keep the issue in everyones minds to some type of single payer system could gain momentum and eventually be enacted in 5-10 years. Wish full thinking on my part.

The tenets of the ACA. It's not a sure thing that it will be overturned, either. But the SCOTUS has shown repeatedly that they do not care for public opinion at all; nor should they, really.

All of this is the result of years of GOP dominance in the White House and Senate on selecting and confirming Supreme Court nominees. They have always focused on nominees and used wedge issues to get themselves in office.

As far as Obama is in office, he will keep working on this. This is such an uphill battle that we can't give up on. The GOP wants to dismantle this country.

Thanks for your reply. As I said, or hope that I did, it is a worthy thing to do, to get people educated on how serious that this is for millions of people.
