Zimmerman's Father Insists Trayvon Martin Was Never On Phone w/Girlfriend

"I don't believe that happened. I don't believe she was on the phone with him, and I find it very strange with the publicity involved... that all of a sudden, after three weeks, someone would remember that they were on the phone."

Yet ABC has obtained the cellphone phone records:

Phone records obtained by ABC News show that the girl called Martin at 7:12 p.m., five minutes before police arrived, and remained on the phone with Martin until moments before he was shot.

DeeDee said Martin turned around and asked Zimmerman why he was following him.

"The man said what are you doing around here?" DeeDee recalled Zimmerman saying.

She said she heard someone pushed into the grass before the call was dropped.

According to what I've seen reported, he was a retired magistrate in the Virginia judicial system (having served as such from 2000 through 2006). A "magistrate" in Virginia is a judicial officer with very limited powers and is not considered a judge. Magistrates are appointed not elected and at the time Zimmerman's father was a magistrate, you didn't even have to be a college graduate to get the job, let alone a law school graduate. In fact, even today, Virginia law doesn't require magistrate to have law degrees, although a bachelor's degree is a prerequisite.

In short, based on what actually is known about Zimmerman's dad, he may well be an idiot, but he probably isn't a powerful or influential idiot.

Station. Let me tell ya this case is a generational game changer. This is the teaching moment that post racial America does not exist. The children who heard the stories of MLK and of Montgomery and of Rosa Parks now have their own personal real time example of what it's like to be profiled, hated and treated thusly. Very sad....we all need to get up and keep the fire of outrage hot: we're tired. We're mad as hell and we will not take it anymore!

I still think there's a difference between a grieving (?) parent claiming their serial killer kid is a good person, versus this guy calling out Obama, who didn't make a controversial statement at all. My view is also clouded by the notion that dad may have helped Junior get out of legal jams in the past. No, I don't know that to be true, but I am waiting to hear something on that score.

I feel sorry for him and I'm sure he wishes none of this ever happened, but parents do stand up for their children no matter what. However, it would be best if he stayed off television as his comments, such as this one, are not helping at all.

Maybe a more humble approach would help calm things down. On the other hand, it's never a good thing for people who might end up being witnesses to talk to the press.

It doesn't hurt us to understand though, the nightmare he too is living right now. .

The MSM has been kind to you in terms of not mentioning that you're a retired judge. Now that you've officially injected yourself into the case, they might start wondering if there's a connection between your position and your son's inexplicably clean record.

There is a very low threshold for judges in Florida. Note that they routinely favor millionaires who declare they are bankrupt, move all their assets to Florida, where they can keep them and live in luxury while their creditors go broke.
I don't know of anyone who believes this man. He doesn't even have the guts to show his face. A coward and a liar, just like Zimmerman's lawyer who has put out all kinds of lies and ran away from an objective interview where he couldn't manipulate the questions..
If George Zimmerman is not held responsible for this, Florida is going to lose. I know of three families who had planned to visit DisneyWorld but have opted to spend their vacation at Disneyland in Anaheim instead. They are all families of mixed races and are afraid to take a chance with Florida's gun laws allowing nuts to have concealed carry permits.
From all the calls Zimmerman made to 911 during the past year, it is obvious he is a disturbed individual, seeing danger where none exists. He was a bomb waiting to explode. It's so sad that a young man minding his own business had to trigger it.
I don't see how the "stand your ground" law can possibly be used to excuse the actions of a man who pursued this young man for some distance, even after being told to back off by the 911 operator.
I see him as a predator, looking for an easy kill to satisfy his cop wanna-be aspirations.
