Two legal experts have independently told Palmetto Public Record they expect the U.S. Department of Justice to issue an indictment against South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) on charges of tax fraud as early as this week.

I can't find very much on the Internet to establish this as much more than a rumor. Supposedly Haley is being investigated for tax fraud regarding her improper management of her father's Sikh worship center. But the information is very sketchy. If anyone has details, I'd appreciate reading about it as this would be a rare treat, if true.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was never the subject of an Internal Revenue Service investigation into a worship center her family helps run, according to a letter released by the IRS Friday.


“As we said from the very beginning, there was not an ounce of truth to any of these accusations — they were totally contrived, totally false, brought by unaccountable bloggers,” said Rob Godfrey, a spokesman for Haley.
