Law enforcement and military know what a John WAYNE is: A (supposedly) super-macho, blustering, braggadoccio, who always goes ZERO-TO-SIXTY without any kind of mental processing, brawn (or at least lethal force) and no brain. So here are the BUNDY militia deteriorating and it couldnt happen to a more appropriate bunch.

Nevada Ranch Militias Turn Against Each Other Over Drone-Attack Theory
Adam Weinstein
The armed anti-government play-warriors who built a military force around a racist redneck rancher in Nevada have split into rival factions and are now at the brink of civil war, calling each other crazies and traitors and spreading rumors that Eric Holder planned a drone strike on them. ....
... but freemen in search of a hot discharge of their firearm loads remain encamped around his land, occasionally setting up checkpoints to intimidate local drivers in the name of freedom.
In this Waco-wacko Woodstock of woolly-bully mountain men, the irony and the insanity spiked last weekend when leaders of the most prominent militia group, the Oath Keepers, began complaining of armed madmen "in the camp running amok." They eventually pulled back from their positions, claiming they had received intelligence suggesting that the Obama administration's attack drones were incoming.
That "redeployment" pissed off other armed patriots who stayed behind in Nevada, who now call the Oath Keepers and their prominent leader, Stewart Rhodes, cowards and traitors who might actually be working for the U.S. government. "They committed a deliberate act of desertion," Blaine Coopera de facto leader of the remaining militiamensaid in his own video, embedded at the top of this post. ....
That started a series of conflagrations between different militiamen that apparently frustrated Rhodes. In the video he complained of an "increasingly deteriorating situation" in the camps, due to "a bunch of hotheads" whom he thought weren't stable enough to carry out the armed struggle against the United States government in the Nevada desert. "We could see they were a ticking time bomb and they weren't under sufficient command and control," he said. "We wanted to pull out." ....
Which is a shame. All these hardened breadfruits seem made for each otherfrom the tactical cargo pants up to the leaky sieves that hold their soggy thoughts and theories mostly in place. ....

(75,480 posts)teach the gospel of Nordic Jesus and all the nonsense of fearing their government and how superior Aryans are to the rest of the mud people? They cherry pick the bible to bolster their beliefs. So I because of religion they have a certain amount of unity. If it weren't for the religion part unifying these KKK clones, they would have shot each other to extinction a long time ago. I used to live in Sandpoint Idaho and got to know those morons pretty well as I often has to work alongside them as well as other interactions I couldn't avoid.

(17,528 posts)I wonder what would happen if Obama had a drone drop some explosives near them just to show them he might/could do it or are at least thinking of the possibility. Bet they'd head for the hills and realize there is NO fighting the Government and winning and without losing their lives. However they may be just dumb enough to try it.

(86,636 posts)how to set them off with nobody but them getting hurt... since that's what they really want.
There is Nellis AF base nearby, perhaps a couple low flyovers would ruffle their feathers a little more, especially if they occurred often. Then there's the idea that someone floated for a couple enterprising individuals to conduct remote control airplane flyovers so that they hear/see drones. I had the added devious idea that if someone launched a coupl cherry bombs in the area from a safe distance... set them on edge a little more each day, as the heat index increases on the ground.
Collectively they might have enough brainz to add up to a positive integer on a number line (IQ scale)... so maybe they just need a little help achieving their goal for all out war... but only they show up for it. The human gene pool can do without this group.

I'm sure you have a very valid point there!
I just thought a few "pops" would rattle their cages just a little bit more.

(12,869 posts)Whenever some gun nut argues that guns are essential to overthrow the tyranny of the US government, I say if that unlikely scenario ever came to pass the result would be depradations and tyranny far worse than their fevered hatred of today's federal government.

Why Gun-Rights Backers Win While Other Conservative Causes Lose
David Frum
.... Even more impressive, this string of victories was scored as gun ownership in America tumbled. Only about one-third of American households now own a gun, compared to about one-half in 1973. Much of this decline can be traced to the fading of hunting as an American pastime. Only about 6 percent of Americans hunt even once in a year. Thats just slightly more than the number who attended a ballet performance: 3.9 percent.
Yet a smaller group of gun owners manages to exercise more political power. As gun ownership has dwindled, the remaining cohort has coalesced into a compact and self-conscious minority, for whom guns represent an ideology even more than a sport or hobby.
Republicans are nearly twice as likely to own a gun as Democrats are.
White Americans are twice as likely to own a gun as nonwhite Americans.
Among Americans under age 30, only about one in five owns a gun. Among Americans over age 50, one in three owns a gun.
Nearly half of men own a gun; only 13 percent of women do.
Southerners are 50 percent more likely to own a gun than Easterners, the South being the most gun-owning region and the East being the least.
Add it all up, and the core gun constituency looks a lot like the Tea Party on the firing range: Two-thirds of American households own no guns at all. The vast majority of households that own a gun own only one. Opposing them, a small minorityabout 6 percent of American householdshave amassed 65 percent of the nations privately owned firearms. That group is very white, very Southern, and very conservative indeed. ....

(81,297 posts)Just a bunch of bullshit bozos. Unfortunately, armed and EXTREMELY dangerous, and volatile as hell. What a cocktail. Can only lead to something very bad. I just hope non-combatants and those duly-charged with trying to keep the peace don't get hurt. They're the ones who are SUPPOSED to have guns and be armed. Not these wannabe Rambos and dickish penny-ante spoiling-for-a-fight John Waynes. It struck me that these are the thuggish idiotic "gonna go out in a BLAZE of GLORY!"
Mainly, I suspect, because they've seen all the movies and the glorified war and violence, and video war games and stuff. So understand this: these types probably, most of 'em, haven't seen combat. All they know is their armchair-warrior video games. What happens when you shoot somebody to smithereens or you get killed in those? You start a new game or hit "reset" and everything's all fine again. No muss no fuss! Lots of cool blood and guts and "Blaze of Glory." And it's awfully easy to talk tough and swagger around and arm yourself to the teeth and look like a big-ass he-man bigger than The Rock and Schwarzenegger and Steven Seagal and Rambo and Clint Eastwood and John Wayne and Will Smith all rolled into one. All of those, mind you, cheap-ass fairy-tale PRETEND movie tough-guys. However, if these assholes "play" the REAL thing, in REAL life, in REAL time, there is NO "reset" button. It's "Blaze of GORY." And they will get the shock of their lives. Or rather, of their deaths. And there's no "reset" button there, either.
If you play with fire, sooner or later you're gonna get burned. Especially if the fire you're playing with is the pretend kind most of the time. These would-be militia types, the Moocher Militia can't keep reality straight with the pretend most of the time, seems to me. They'd be a lot less swagger-y if they really knew what kind of fire they're playing with, and how close they're skirting the edge. And how recklessly they're tempting fate. All the ingredients are there for a big fat powder keg to blow up. Thank God law enforcement on hand is keeping a cool head!!! The Moocher Militia should be grateful to them rather than threatening and menacing and in-yer-face to them. That's the ONLY THING saving these assholes from a complete conflagration.
