Make up shit that he stole? Increase the price of those specific crab legs to make it a higher charge? He got caught and he got the appropriate punishment. I suppose we could burn him at the stake instead.

All I know is this guy was once accused of rape, but I don't think he was ever tried, let alone convicted.

If you really want to call this guy a rapist, you can always write an open letter with your real name.

we have now, which is admins protecting rapists at the expense of the student body. The push back is to be expected.

I question the sincerity of the rape "investigation," but as it stands Winston has been cleared of the accusation. The OP headline is of poor form.

... on CNN, citing an independent investigation into the rape allegation, that Winston had been named in a similar, earlier assault against a second woman at the university. She had sought counseling at the university but did not wish to make the case public, so no one heard of it until this recent investigation. I'll see if I can find a source for this most recent information.

While Winston got a trophy.

I guess the lesson here is, it's okay to assault women as long as you don't shoplift a bag of crab legs and crawfish.

I find it unbelievably insulting that this entitled piece of shit should get a free pass to assault women but he's now in hot water for lifting a bag of crab legs and crawdads. I guess that shows women just how much they count, huh?

Edited to add... meant to mention, I may have heard that report this morning on ESPN rather than CNN; nevertheless, the source (NYT) was the same.

You are correct and President Obama is trying to change the way colleges report and treat sexual assault on campus.

That does not mean we can go back and re-evaluate every rumor, innuendo, and even reports of past crimes. The case against Winston made it further than the vast majority of sexual assault cases in college.

The cops fucked up in this case and ran a poor investigation. That doesn't mean Winston is guilty, mostly guilty or even innocent. The statute of limitations hasn't passed, but to call someone a rapist when they haven't been convicted or even charged is irresponsible.
