Watching the severe weather outbreak unfolding across the South today.

For those of you who may not have been paying much attention, there is a *major* severe weather outbreak unfolding across the southern states right now and there's already been at least one strong, damaging tornado in Arkansas with multiple reports of serious damage in several communities.

This was the latest bulletin on the aforementioned tornado, as of 7:48 pm.

METEOROLOGISTS WERE TRACKING A CONFIRMED TORNADO WITH REPORTS OF
DAMAGE. THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY TORNADO WAS LOCATED 3 MILES EAST OF
LAKE CONWAY...OR 8 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CONWAY...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50
MPH.

THIS IS A TORNADO EMERGENCY FOR SALTILLO AND VILONIA. TAKE COVER NOW.

TBH, I've been watching this all day and it's like a switch just flipped, right about 5 pm CDT. This is getting scary, folks. This one tornado might have been a violent tornado, too, according to some reports.

La, Miss, Ala, Ga, Fla.....clear.
Arkansas, missouri and Iowa right now, not so much.

There's been a LOT of damage already and this tornado is STILL on the ground.

are so bad. Tornadoes and earthquakes really freak me out. Other things you can somewhat plan for, sometimes.

that this is the first thread I've about it seen on DU. Usually, I know I can come here and find good information from the get go. (I may not post much, but I'm here daily. )

Watching the radar and it's a nasty fucker. Big debris ball on radar, which can typically indicate a violent tornado.

The SPC has been concerned about this storm system for days now.

I don't watch TWC, but I follow Jim Cantore from time to time. I follow a lot of Storm Chaser and weather pages on Facebook (I am a big time weather nerd) and pics coming in are not pretty.

My prayers go out to everyone this evening.

Breaking News is full of storm reports from Ark.
1 confirmed dead there.
