Look at the Visions of Corporate Conservatism and Populist Liberalism compared to modern reality.

Which is best reflected in where the United States (and the world) stands today in terms of the economic well-being of the majority, the distribution of wealth and power?

Look at what drives our economic and social policies today -- the public interest or private greed?

Look at whose interests are being served more -- average people and the disadvantaged or the wealthy and powerful?

And look at the proportion of difference in who is being served by our politics today.

Then tell me that "centrist" politics-as-usual is actually working to advance the professed goals of the Democratic Party.

(When I say "professed goals" I mean those philosophical, political and moral principles that tend to cause people to identify with one party or the other.)
