(37,573 posts)there's only ONE baseball. Why should only one kid get it over everybody else?
A free ML baseball means something to a kid. Well, it means something to that adult as well, and probably to many other adults.
The player meant to give it to the kid. But why toss a ball only to kids? Why not toss an occasional ball to a random adult?
I just think a scarcity situation is tougher.
But at this stage of history, my question is, why do we need to be in a scarcity situation?
The standard answer would sort of be - because that's the way people are.
And that certainly seems true, but it also seems true that - that's the way people are encouraged to be.

(51,559 posts)He STOLE that ball from the kid. The player was clearly giving it to the kid, throwing it gently into the boy's outstretched catcher's mitt. That asshole invaded that kid's space and TOOK the ball that was about to fall into the boy's mitt. It's like someone reaching into my car and taking a Christmas present from my passenger seat that I was about to give to my niece. That douchebag is a THIEF.
Much like the GOP oligarchs who steal the value of our labor and give it to themselves.

(31,159 posts)at Safeco Field when the Yankees were in town one year. During batting practice, we were on the third base line when BP ended. Scott Brosius was the 3rd baseman for the yanks and from a couple of feet away tossed a ball to a kid about 5 and some adult knocked it out of the kid's glove and stole the ball. Brosius just stood there stunned then got another ball and walked up to the kid and handed it to him.....he did have a couple of "polite" words for the adult. It was class act on Bosius' part.

(6,679 posts)Best part of this vid is the jackass flaunts it to the kid after he snags it.
Keep his cool dad has been seen in action by loved ones, friends, neighbors, coworkers, bosses. Will be more likely to be trusted when someone is in a pickle. Employers pay for that skill.
The selfish dweeb has been seen in action by loved ones, friends, neighbors, coworkers, bosses. Betcha he's already regretting his actions.
Dude in the blue hat behind um who tried and failed to snag the ball has also been seen in action by loved ones, friends, neighbors, coworkers, bosses. Even though he failed, they now all know what he's made of too.
Eventually the dumshits give themselves away.
