I think George Zimmerman's judge father influenced the District Attorney not to arrest his son. The circumstance is just a little too cozy.
Sanford is a small community with an apparent 'good old boy', 'everybody knows everybody else' authority structure. Sanford is also trying to run away from it's past. This things smells of corruption.
I could be wrong but if I was a betting person I'd take the bet.
Circumstantial evidence can be enough to convict.

(4,982 posts)this looks like another "good ol boy" coverup. I lived down there long enough to recognize that.

(15,189 posts)Where's the blood. Nose bleeds from getting hit bleed a lot. There should have been blood on Zimmerman's shirt, and on Trayvon too.

Did you see a gash that would require sutures on the back of his head? Me neither.

(14,549 posts)Zimmerman was not treated by the EMTs who arrived at the scene.
I think the most telling statement in evidence so far is Zimmerman muttering on the 911 call as he pursued an innocent unarmed teenager:
"These assholes always get away..."

(15,942 posts)this report was from Timothy Smith. He was also the officer who took GZ's gun and transported him the the PS.

(14,549 posts)- Time of dispatch and time of arrival on scene are the same.
- The Smith report varies with Officer Ayala's as Ayala said that Officer Smith LATER STATES that there was one subject shot, and he had one at gunpoint. Smith never states that he was holding Zimmerman "at gunpoint." Quite the opposite, he states that Zimmerman complies and is placed in cuffs.
- The Smith report speculates only once -- "as if he had been lying on his back on the ground"
- How do you do CPR and chest compressions on someone who has been SHOT IN THE CHEST ?!
- None of the officers describe the condition of Martin's body: the gunshot, location of the wound(s), number of entry wounds, nothing.
- Smith includes what he says he overheard GZ say to paramedics and it just happens to be something that helps one of GZ's versions of events.
- GZ said he was jumped when he got out of his SUV to check a street sign but there is no mention of his vehicle in descriptions of the scene which is between 2 long multi-unit residences. There are no street signs between residences in the middle of a block -- 1231 Twin Trees Lane is not even close to an intersection which would have signs:

- There is no way of knowing when the Smith report was created or filed.

(154,021 posts)I know that when we still used paper, yup in the dark ages, at times crew logged the same time. I had to correct those at times... It was an easy mistake to make actually, it meant I had to keep a log as well. (Yup, I hated working the radio by the way)
These days, and I am assuming Sanford PD uses some version of Enhanced 911, a lot of that has been automated by the system, using CPU clocks. The only viable explanation is that first officer was a block away...which is not likely. Or...
That raises more questions in my mind. Somehow I do not expect Sanford PD to still live in 1985 or so, well before Enhanced 911.
Or perhaps they do...I mean no gloves with a customer that per official story was blody. What we saw on that tape is kind of immaterial, so tell us the cops.
Let's just say this has fallen appart.

(15,942 posts)I was also curious about the CPR and chest compression, however, I'm not familiar enough with gunshot wounds to know how big of a wound a 9mm would make
But it is interesting that Trayvon was lying face down with his hands under his body, as stated by Ayala.
I suppose GZ claiming that he was the one screaming was his attempt to cover up the fact that Trayvon was the one screaming for his life, therefore GZ had to assume the role of the screamer.
Needless to say Trayvon will NEVER get the opportunity to present his side of the story or events. And it is very troubling that someone can take another person's life and have absolutely no remorse what so ever, however, it happens all the time.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)a 9mm is not that impressive. Though in my mind at close range the bullet went in and out, ergo there should be two woulda.
If the bullet did not do that...then it was not close range. It's just ballistics 101. Why many cops prefer to use a 40 cal, good penetration value, but have less of a chance of hitting somebody extra on the other side of the wall at close tactical range.
Sorry for the gory details, but those talks do go on inside PDs as to what weapons to issue, most still issue 9mm since Beretta has some sweet deals, and what guns to aprove for cops to use for personal use and on duty. Local PDs allow cops 40 and 45...
The messiest CPR was on a gent with a shotgun bast to the chest. No, he did not make it.
By the way I have been excused from jury duty involving guns a few times, after they learn I was a medic for ten years.

(37,305 posts)I want the stuff that is so obviously not in line with the story that I don't have to try to figure out what lame excuse there could be.
Zimmerman's lawyer says there is a broken nose. If there is none it's game over.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)That was life or death. He could have broken his nose later.
That tape is bad for any defense team.
By the way the back of the head does not fit with needed sutures later on either.

(15,064 posts)The people that need satisfaction are Trayvon's parents. Here are the facts so far. A teenager has been killed by a man with a gun and Trayvon had Skittles and tea in his possession. A District Attorney, who is never or rarely at the police station made sure he was there when Zimmerman arrived at the police station. This was verified. He over rode the detectives saying Zimmerman had to be released because it was self defense. The video does not show show any injury to Zimmerman. Zimmerman said Trayvon's last words were, "You got me." That is straight out of a 'B' western dialog. Zimmerman told his judge father that Trayvon said, "You are going to die tonight." after Zimmerman pulled his gun. He supposedly said this while holding Skittles and tea while Zimmerman was brandishing a firearm.
It's a guessing game with the odds on the side of manslaughter or murder.

these OBVIOUS details have been SAT on loooong enough.
people have been demanding these details from jump, the coverup has got to end, now.
and this video is the tipping point (coupled with all the other details we now know) this is a forgone conclusion, imho.

(14,549 posts)Much of what many people refer to as 'racism' is simply prejudice, individual prejudice, but this is the real deal.
In the 911 tapes, they quickly ask all the callers in Sanford to name the race of the person they are calling about. They ask it the way they ask you what kind of salad dressing you want at Olive garden: "white, black or hispanic"? Before they ask if the person is on foot or driving, or what they are wearing -- both of which may be more obvious at 7:30pm on a rainy night -- they want to know what everyone's race is.
