Mitch McConnell Tells Unemployed Kentuckians It’s Not His Job To Bring Jobs to Kentucky

Mitch McConnell’s suicide mission of a reelection campaign continues to get worse. At an appearance back home in Kentucky, Sen. McConnell said that it is not his job to bring jobs to the state.

The Beatyville Enterprise reported:

Appearing in Beattyville, McConnell was asked by The Beattyville Enterprise what he was going to do to bring jobs to Lee County.

“Economic development is a Frankfort issue,” McConnell said. “That is not my job. It is the primary responsibility of the state Commerce Cabinet.”

(snip)

If bringing jobs to Kentucky isn’t his job, what is Mitch McConnell’s job? According to McConnell, it isn’t his job to bring jobs to the state, help the unemployed, or assist more people in getting access to healthcare. McConnell’s job seems to involve protecting the Koch brothers by blocking any new campaign finance laws, obstructing the agenda of Barack Obama, and denying the unemployed and veterans the support that they have earned and deserve.

(end snip)

Broker for the sale of congress critters to the 1%. That's what his job is.

McConnell: Jobs comment taken out of context

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell says his comments that it is not his job to bring employment to a struggling Kentucky county were taken out of context.

McConnell said Thursday in a statement that he wanted to clarify the “not my job” remarks, published in the Beattyville Enterprise newspaper about Lee County, where the unemployment rate is 12.8 percent. The paper quoted McConnell saying it was up to the state government to create jobs.

In his statement, McConnell says all government officials should work to create jobs, pointing out a bill he sponsored last year that would lower federal taxes for areas that have high unemployment.

Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes called McConnell’s comments reprehensible. She says her first priority would be to create jobs.

Edmund Shelby, the editor and general manager of the Beattyville Enterprise who wrote the story, told CNHI News Service that he “100 percent, completely” stands by the story and that it represents his interview with McConnell “word for word.”

If I don't have a job, I don't pay any income tax.

with EITC and deductions you can easily end up owing no taxes even on unemployment.

Statement Sen. Mitch McConnelll made in an interview with the National Journal's Major Garrett on Oct. 29, 2010: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

He had a goal, it failed, and clearly now he has little else to work on. Can't blame the dude for sitting around for an addition 4 years not creating jobs, not passing laws, not creating an healthier Kentucky, but by God making sure "Benggazi"!
