Bundy's Black Bodyguard: 'I Would Take A Bullet For That Man'

CATHERINE THOMPSON – APRIL 25, 2014, 11:46 AM EDT

One of the supporters serving as a bodyguard for Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy during his standoff with federal authorities -- and who also happens to be black -- said he would still "take a bullet for" Bundy after the rancher made racially inflammatory comments.

CNN's Dan Simon noticed Jason Bullock, a six-year Army veteran who serves as one of Bundy's bodyguards, hanging around the at the Nevada ranch. Simon asked Bullock whether he found Bundy's remarks about blacks and slavery offensive.

"Mr. Bundy is not a racist," he told CNN. "Ever since I've been here, he's treated me with nothing but hospitality. He's pretty much treating me just like his own family."

"I would take a bullet for that man if need be. I look up to him just like I do my own grandfather," he added. "I believe in his cause and after having met Mr. Bundy a few times, I have a really good feel about him and I'm a pretty good judge of character."

You stick out like a sore thumb, people like the Bundy's and their supporters don't trust you, they are extremely paranoid and they look at you as nothing more than a "negro" and a "colored" "boy" (quoting Ted Bundy yesterday).

You're backing a lost cause on a sinking ship surrounded by people who hate you. Good luck bud.

Millions serve or have served in our military. Are their thinking "scrambled"? Or are you picking two or three and attributing it to everyone?

I can find you thousands of "scrambled thinking" among people who have gone to graduate school. Does that mean we should ask 'What is it about graduate school that scrambles folks thinking'?

I know of no one that "demands that we worship" the military. But go ahead and insult people doing a job that needs to be done. BTW, I am the last person to worship the military. I served in it and feel we should cut it by at least 50% or more in order to put a stop to our meddling in other's affairs.

on Armed Services Radio, many of their officers are a bunch of RW fundies, and the Suth has such a lousy rate of employment that the enlisted ranks are often packed with poor working class kids who used to drive aroubd with Confederate flag decals on their trucks. It creates a certain ambient "culture" that seeps into their pores.

Oh, yeah ...

If the master's house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, "What's the matter, boss, we sick?" We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself. And if you came to the house Negro and said, "Let's run away, let's escape, let's separate," the house Negro would look at you and say, "Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?" That was that house Negro.

"Mr. Bundy is not a racist," he told CNN. "Ever since I've been here, he's treated me with nothing but hospitality. He's pretty much treating me just like his own family."

...points:

1) Is that the "black guy" who Bundy tried to hide behind?

Cliven Bundy: I can't be racist, I know a black guy
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024866795

2) What would anyone expect a paid tool to say? His job is to "take a bullet" for Bundy.

3) He's a "six-year Army veteran" working for a guy who doesn't recognize the U.S. government? He clearly has a mercenary mentality.

That's a funny definition of patriotism you've got there, fella
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024833813

Steve Benen:

Political figures who rallied to defend Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy must have known they were taking a risk. Indeed, much of the Republican establishment chose to do the exact opposite precisely because they were afraid to gamble on a man who doesn’t recognize the legitimacy of the United States government.

But some prominent GOP officials rolled the dice anyway. Fox News and Glenn Beck celebrated the rancher as a hero, while U.S. senators like Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Dean Heller (R-Nev.) cheered Bundy on, calling him a “patriot,” even as he declared an ability to ignore laws and court orders he doesn’t like.

It’s become increasingly difficult to maintain this posture. For one thing, anyone relying on the threat of violence to act above the law hasn’t earned the backing of anyone in the American mainstream. For another, some of the basic elements of Bundy’s claims now appear to be false.

<...>

Frankly, it was pretty obvious before that federal lawmakers like Rand Paul and Dean Heller were making a huge mistake rallying behind Bundy. When it comes to choosing a proper cause celebre, it’s best not to choose a man who’s said, “I don’t recognize [the] United States government as even existing,” and whose supporters appeared prepared for a confrontation – a potentially violent confrontation – with American law enforcement.

What does it say when U.S. Senators become apologists for lunatics who declare they don't recognize the U.S. government?
Still, even Republicans are starting to realize they were dumbasses for jumping on this lunatic's bandwagon.

RNC Spokesman Is Furious The GOP Has Been Lumped With Bundy...

Bundy has his "black guy" in Jason Bullock, who is either a complete fool or he'll one day realize that he's ready to die for someone who argues that he would be better off if he were a "slave."

Jason Bullock = Moron.

SO...because this guy, who apparently has worked with this rancher man for quite a while, disagrees with a bunch of people who watched a 1:30 second video that seems to, from a certain context, say things unflattering or perhaps racist (but most likely just ill-informed or 'old' thought), he's:
1. Dumb
2. A traitor
3. A moron
4. Gets patted on the head a lot (?!?!!)
5. An Uncle Tom renamed
6. A small slew of other insults

Unbelievable. Disgusting and unbelievable.
