Local radio host tries to do interview with relatives of friend who live in Ukraine

Here is the response he got (just posted on Facebook):

"I spoke with two members of my family in Mariupol. Right now they feel it is not in their best interest to come out publicly on a nationally syndicated radio program against the pro Russian protectors. They are not sure, if after the may elections they will still be part of Ukraine or part of Russia. If Mariupol, which is in the east falls under Russian control in the future they do not wish to be on record supporting the position on an independent Ukraine. Mind you they are none to happy the members in the east part of the country (Kiev) earlier this year deposed the elected president. They feel it would have been much better to wait till the May election and vote him out. Oleg made a comment to me which I felt was important. He said "a true democratic society would have waited till the election to act but a society which only gives democracy lip service revolts when they are unhappy". So it is a good example for future societies, revolts do not necessarily turn out the way the protestors hoped.
Thank you"
