Bundy: If People Are Offended By Me, MLK ‘Didn’t Do His Job’

In response, Bundy again slammed the media for portraying him as a racist while stressing that he supports civil rights. He invoked the example of Rosa Parks, saying "I want her to be able to sit anywhere in the bus and I want to be able to sit by her anywhere in that bus."

"Maybe I sinned and maybe I need to ask forgiveness … but you know when you talk about prejudice, we're talking about not being able to exercise what we think and are feeling," Bundy eventually conceded.

"If I say 'negro' or 'black boy' or 'slave,' I'm not -- if those people cannot take those kind of words and not be offensive then Martin Luther King didn't do his job," he added.

While working at an airport we got word a plane was attempting a landing with the nose wheel up. Not wanting to see any one hurt I still watched. No one was hurt. Not wanting to see even the idiots supporting Bundy hurt I watched no one was physically harmed. Bundy is utterly fascinating in his delusions of self worth exceeding even the banality of Sarah Palin. I should look away but find it fascinating.

This Bundy character will keep it up as long as there is a microphone or camera close. Eventually my longtime favorite disaster Sarah Palin will make an appearance attracted by the opportunity to partcipate in the show and thereby achieving a Nirvana of "stupid".

13. Jon Stewart's take
Fri Apr 25, 2014, 10:01 AM
Apr 2014

Comedian Jon Stewart tackled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy's comments on blacks and slavery at the top of Thursday night's "The Daily Show."

"In a surprising twist, states rights-sovereign citizen Cliven Bundy is apparently also a professor of Negro Studies," he said without sounding very surprised at all.

Stewart played back video of Bundy's remarks at a press conference last weekend, in which he asked if blacks were "better off as slaves picking cotton" than "under government subsidy."

"I should have mentioned he's a professor at Duke University -- David Duke University," he said, referring to the former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard.

of just what he thought MLK's job was.

MLK's message has been so bastardized by the media that ANYONE seems to use it to back up any opinion at all dealing with race in any way.

It doesn't excuse the load of nonsense he and his family and their supporters are spouting, and I'm sure he would spout something similar if he were in better cognitive health.

But this is a person whose faculties are failing him. Every time I've seen him interviewed, he's meandered off into the weeds pretty quickly. Not just the rightwing weeds. The regular old dandelions and crabgrass. He's an older person, and he's not all there. He looks lost and confused. Afraid.

I think it's cruel of his family to have him out in public talking like this.

And what does it mean of the American rightwing that they're comfortable with someone who isn't even in his own version of his "right mind" out in front?

I started hearing that "Blacks were so much happier when massa was looking after them on the ol' plantation" bullshit at least 50 years ago; it's as central to neo-Confederate lore as is the "My stars n' bars flag is about heritage, not racism" idiocy.

And by all means, Mr. Bundy, keep on talking. Maybe Roger Ailes can find you a spot on Fox "News," with a group of your I.Q and coherency equals......
