Why stand in front of U.S. Flag

if you don't acknowledge the existence of the Federal government? Someone here is extremely confused. Now, he says he's (Bundy) not a racist after "wondering" if Negroes were not better off as slaves. They live on government subsidies from the government he does not recognize. He gets tax breaks (subsidies) from the same government too. Oh, but he won't pay the greatly subsidized grazing fees that all of the other farmers pay to use federal land.

Ok. Again I ask, why the U.S. Flag?

...that hasn't been addressed in the media, is the use of present tense (subjunctive mood?), not the past tense.

We all heard what you wrote: ...not a racist after "wondering" if Negroes were not better off as slaves. I heard the same thing, too. However what he said was:

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

After examining this comment, it reads to me like he would put "the Negro" back into slavery if he thought they would be "better off."

of his level of intellect... well, lack of it really. I think Jon Stewart pointed that out in his Monday treatment of this event.
