Debbie Wasserman Schultz has one last chance to show she is competent

As DNC chair, handpicked by Obama to replace Howard Dean, she has been a dismal failure (or perhaps she was intended to be?), doing absolutely nothing while (among many other things) entire state legislatures around the nation have been flipping to the GOP, solidifying Republican power starting at ground-roots level.

However, Wasserman Shultz has been handed a golden opportunity to demonstrate that she is not at least a total tool: Cliven Bundy's racial comments.

If there are not regional ads linking Rand Paul, Dean Heller, Greg Abbott, and other vocal Bundy supporters to Cliven Bundy -- and highlighting Bundy's racist statements -- you will know for certain that Wasserman Schultz has been putting one over rank-and-file Democrats.

And THEY were the ones changing the direction of the country and putting in the work and the blood, sweat and tears all while the president was "evolving". He only fully evolved once it was clear that it was a politically safe move, AND when he was going to need the support of the gay community for re-election.

To give him any large degree of credit short changes those who did the heavy lifting as far as changing the direction of the country.

The majority of voters have no clue who Bundy is and once they find out they just laugh him off. If you think Shultz is the reason the GOP is doing well at the state and local level then you have not really been paying attention for the past 3 or 4 decades.

I understand you are angry but spending down all of the DNC funds on un-targeted nationwide ads would, and should, get any chair fired.

Why don't you start a PAC and collect millions of dollars and run those ads if you think it is such a great idea? Good luck.

She tweeted, "Cliven Bundy's comments are abhorrent and should be condemned immediately by all sides."

I think most reasonable people recognize that his abhorrent comments and his viewpoint regarding the land dispute are separate issues. People say stupid things. Did you abandon Jessie Jackson after he called NYC "Hymietown"?

Also, the DNC was Dean's main focus at the time, as far as we know, while Kaine was still finishing serving as Governor when he took the job (though he had the job after his term ended, too) and DWS obviously has a day job.

There is a lot to look at, I will grant.

But, was she supposed to fail? Wouldn't Democratic officeholders from, cities to the Senate, be up in arms about that? The DNC helps protect their jobs.

As far as Clive, whenever I see DWS on a TV show, I think she does a pretty good job bashing Republicans.

I am getting less and less concerned about how well Rs and Ds bash each other and more and more concerned about what our officials do or do not do for us.

That said, I loves me a good bashing of Republicans. (Jon Stewart's been on fire this week, about Clive and Hannity both.)
