His father was a judge in Athens. When John was a commissioner, he was vilified (by the GOP) as a leftist liberal.

And he was speculating on who could possibly support these terrible gun laws. He said that college presidents certainly don't want guns on campuses, that they could lead to more campus suicides, let alone his fellow ministers, who certainly don't want guns in their churches. David Letterman needs to bring back his "Stooge of the Night," RW members of Congress who vote for these gun laws despite opposition from the vast majority of their constituents.

Georgia college students are allowed to keep firearms in their vehicles on campus. I don't think you can make a valid argument that those few hundred feet keep people from shooting themselves in their dorms. I digress it is still against the law for just anyone to carry a weapon on Georgia college campuses. Churches also are allowed to forbid the carry of weapons on their property. I hope I was able to clear some things up for those who are interested.

There are plenty of Zimmermans and Dunns in Georgia colleges, churches, etc.

I don't think Deal signed anything allowing guns in government offices, because even that old fool knows there are a lot of ignorant yahoos who will strap guns on to get their driver licenses, watch Republicans run the legislature, etc., to be safe. My guess is that churches who will welcome toting yahoos have a high percentage of white/right wingers in the congregation.

There has not been a political assasination succeed since Kennedy. We have had a few near misses and then the nutjob who shot Gabby Giffords.

What happens if the empowered mentally ill take advantage and target the enablers? Government buildings surely includes the governor's office, doesn't it? I bet the congress will feel so much better with so many walking their halls, AKs and other war toys openly carried. Pity the security guards, outgunned. Why do they assume that only Repubs have a weapon?

Will the NRA toadies still stay the pro-gun course? Will anyone care or are we so inured that it just doesn't matter?

WTF is going to make this madness stop?

Wed Apr 23, 2014, 10:12 PM

continues to finance right-wing politicians with marching orders from their masters, the NRA/ALEC/Koch Brothers "guns for everyone" campaign. More guns in more places means more profits for the death merchants, who in turn pay commissions to the NRA and the right-wing gun lobby. It is a neoconservative self-perpetuating circle of death and violence.

Right-wing neo-Nazi militias and the KKK will rejoice in this gun madness -- not only in Georgia, but in the entire Red State Tea Party demographical area. Bundy can expect more armed support the next time he decides to stand up for "his right" to steal from American taxpayers and promote the violent overthrow of our government.
