My roomies used to peruse the local papers and select "murder of the week." There were plenty to choose from. Frank Rizzo was police chief at the time, and all he cared about was busting the heads of political protesters and getting rich through corruption. When he ran for mayor as a Democrat, it was the only time I ever voted for a Republican (my guy lost). I was later vindicated when, in this order, Rizzo called Nixon "his friend," Rizzo switched to the Republican Party, Rizzo had to bow out of running again after being unable to explain how he was building a $400,000 house (in 1975!) on a $40,000 salary.

all local networks have the most "exciting" news the local area can tolerate without it being lies. Ugh..... hate sweeps weeks.
