USGS..M2.0 Explosion - 75km E of Gabbs, Nevada

I thought this was odd that the USGS said explosion vs earthquake.

The TauTona Mine or Western Deep No.3 Shaft,[1] is a gold mine in South Africa.

At 3.9 kilometers (2.4 mi) deep it is currently home to the world's deepest mining operations.

height of the surface of the land there. (Close to sea level, I imagine.)

And it seems like explosions around this size are common in that area of Nevada, so I am guessing it is mining related.
