White supremacists in Virginia hide Easter eggs filled with racist messages
HENRICO COUNTY, Va., April 21 (UPI) -- Virginia parents in Henrico County were disturbed after finding Easter eggs filled with racist notes dispersed throughout their community during their annual hunt on Sunday afternoon. Several other racially-spiked eggs were discovered in other yards in the neighborhood.
West End parents Brandon and Jackie Smith told WRIC they found the offensive messages during an Easter egg hunt with their 3-year-old son. “Diversity = white genocide,” read the message inside the egg. “Mass immigration and forced assimilation of non-whites into our lands is genocide."
The eggs may have originated from someone with ties to the “White Man’s March.” According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, march-founder Kyle Hunt mentioned using Easter eggs in a blog post.
“You could buy some of those really cheap plastic Easter eggs, maybe put in something for a little bit of weight, and include a small strip of paper in there with some of our material printed on one side, with your favorite websites printed on the back,” Hunt wrote.
