http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/04/22/burning-man-organizer-plans-anything-goes-bundyfest-to-mock-scofflaw-rancher/Some of the organizers of the annual Burning Man festival are planning an event aimed at mocking the claims of a Nevada rancher who refuses to pay government-mandated fees for using federal lands.
For years, we paid permitting fees to hold Burning Man on the beautiful Playa in Northern Nevada, said the events organizers on a Facebook page. But now, Cliven Bundy has shown us a NEW WAY! ABSOLUTE FREEDOM! Bundy has declared the entire area surrounding Bundy Ranch as a TOTALLY RULES-FREE ZONE! ANYTHING GOES! WOO-HOO!!!
Progressive activist Sean Shealy said Bundyfest, which will be held across the road from Bundys ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada, for one month starting on Sept. 5.
Thats just after the conclusion of the Burning Man festival, and Shealy hopes attendees will travel south to see 240 bands perform 24 hours a day near the ranchers home

(8,217 posts)I may just take off the prohibition I placed on myself from going to Nevada if this is true.
I have enough time to plan this out...

(8,217 posts)I've never had things that fresh before.
I mean, I've done dried age beef before, but fresh meat is something else.

(6,907 posts)if those cows are on public property I don't thin they could be private property, and I don't think there is a limited hunting season for cows.

(15,480 posts)Some people have asked me, where will we camp, where will we park? Shealy said. Anywhere, really. Its f*cking anarchy.
The Facebook page for the event promises no permits will be required, full nudity will be permitted, and the atmosphere will be gay-friendly. However, Shealy warned, no bathroom facilities would be provided. Youre free to let it all hang out right there, just like Bundys cattle, right there in the Virgin River, if you want to, Shealy said.
Organizers also plan a penis erection contest, where participants will be awarded prizes for the largest phallic structure built in the desert.
Shealy said organizers expect about 50,000 people to show up in the desert near Bundys home.

(21,600 posts)I love the idea. i give this event about 10 minutes before law enforcement shows up in droves with riot geat and tear gas to shut this event down.
I applaud the organizers for doing more about about this freeloader than the government is doing.

(2,548 posts)Could this be the name for the new free fresh meat festival ? Seeing as how how bundy doesn't recognize the government, we then need not recognize his governance of what he thought of as his property, oops, did I say that in the past tense? He raised cattle on property that belongs to the American people, therefore lunch is on bundy. Think he will provide sauce?

(53,339 posts)While most of those who came for the standoff have gone, others have arrived since then to maintain a force reportedly numbering around 100.
Business Insider ran a story a weeek ago about a guy who drove there from New Jersey after the standoff. He apparently plans to stay there indefinitely.
