http://www.northjersey.com/news/records-legal-costs-in-gwb-probe-exceed-christie-campaign-funds-on-hand-1.1000229<snip>
Lawyers for the legislative panel investigating the George Washington Bridge controversy have been working seven days a week, according to detailed bills obtained by The Record Monday.
And Governor Christie will apparently have to start fundraising to cover the cost of the attorneys his campaign hired to respond to state and federal subpoenas, according to records also made public Monday. Those state campaign finance records offer the first glimpse at how expensive the politically-motivated access lane closure scandal will be for Christie, whose campaign owes attorneys nearly $100,000 more than it has on hand.
As governor, Christie's office hired Manhattan firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher to complete an internal investigation after a top aide to the governor was tied to the politically motivated lane closures. Gibson Dunn is also responding to subpoenas from the legislative committee and the U.S. attorney's office but it hasn't submitted a single bill to the state for its work since January. The New York Times has estimated the bill to be at least $1 million. The contract calls for the attorneys to be paid $650 an hour.
Meanwhile attorneys and staff from Chicago-based Jenner & Block worked non-stop for the legislative committee from Jan. 13 through the end of February billing 171 hours for weekend work according to bills The Record obtained though a public records request Monday.
The committee has already been billed more than $500,000 for legal work and that's only a fraction of what taxpayers are expected to pay for attorneys working on the bridge issue.

Christie is history

Joy Reid brought it to my attention, naturally, because she rocks!
She juxtaposed the award with a recent quote about his 4 kids. I don't have it at hand, but she's smooth.
