Doubt we'll write it this time....

Unless we wise up and start negotiating a smooth transition to a role as junior partner to the next Global Hegemon.

A New American Century was never in the cards.

We tend to oversimplify our competition as some great rising stars while exaggerating our own problems.

Fact is whatever problems we're struggling with, competitors to the throne like China or India have the same problems in spades.

They have a long way to go assuming the deck doesn't get shuffled in the near future.

China may soon have the world's largest economy by gross GDP, but per capita they lag the US by 85%.



Not to mention that even China is starting to become too expensive for US manufacturers.


In fact, it's widely reported that their own 2008 financial crisis has just begun.


And we haven't even gotten to their own internal struggles.


Yeah- I think America will be just fine.
