That's the thing that seems to be central to the average libertarian's ideology--the belief that they are so special that the government is always out to target them specifically (for nothing) when there are plenty of actual criminals out there. Not only are most of their fears about the government irrational, but it just screams narcissism to me as well whenever I hear any of them mention stuff like the government's supposed plot to seize all their guns or incarcerate them for some random emails or comments online. Our government doesn't even have the capacity or the resources to do that type of stuff for over 300M people, anyway.
