When did we all lose our freedom of speech? Is it illegal to make fun of people now?

Does Rush not understand that's what comedians are supposed to do?

Oh wait, all that oxycontin blew out his ears.

If the heartland thinks this, OK by me I know I could careless about the heartland thinks about anything.

Even better if Colbert pisses off all the conservatives and fundies.

Heck I am not even a fan of Colbert I see his stuff once in a while but I can take it or leave it.

5. Limbaugh had his chance at a high profile emcee/host job and he was epic FAIL

Back in 2003, ESPN gave him a chance to work on as a weekly football announcer. Sure there were plenty of protests but ESPN went ahead and used him thinking that football fans would embrace his knowledge of football and his ability to debate the issues. Limbaugh and ESPN promised that this was just about Football and that Limbaugh was a big fan of the sport and would leave politics at home.

Then only a few weeks into the season he did exactly what we progressives said he would do. He went on ESPN and questioned Philadelphia Eagle's Donovan McNabb's ability as a quarterback. Sure, that's typical of any announcer questioning the ability of a player at a position. But Limbaugh, the dumbass that he is, decided to bring race into it - that the only reason he was even QBing was because McNabb was Black and Limbaugh dropped this comment on ESPN

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve.

In the end everyone protested, McNabb showed total class and stayed above the frackus and went on to have what was probably his (and the Eagles) best season ever and Limbaugh was promptly fired.

I highly doubt that Colbert will bring this Comedy Central persona to the new CBS Late Show - in the end he has a personality that I think everyone will enjoy!

Because the Heartland only wants to see people that can't make it through one entire NFL season before being dumped by their broadcasting station...
