Rupert Murdoch Reveals His Top Choices For 2016, Says He 'Could Live With Hillary'

TOM KLUDT – APRIL 10, 2014, 12:09 PM EDT

Billionaire media tycoon Rupert Murdoch provided a wish list for the 2016 presidential race in a rare interview published Thursday.

Murdoch told Fortune that his top choices are "between four or five people."

"It's not necessarily, although slightly, in order of preference: Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, whom I have particular admiration for. I do for both. [Chris] Christie could recover," he said. "Scott Walker, whom I don't know, and Rand Paul, whom I agree with on a great number of things but disagree strongly on some things -- too strongly perhaps to vote for him."

"I could live with Hillary as President," he told Fortune. "We have to live with who we get. We don't have any choice."

Damning with faint praise.

Could be a strategic move. One sure way to get Democrats who are on the fence about Hillary to climb off the fence and support someone else (a Nader-esque third part challenger) is for Murdoch to praise her, however mildly.
