So, I vape more than I smoke because of DU.

I had to lose the term huffer... but after meeting a woman in GA who stopped smoking via vaping, she encouraged me. Then I paid attention to DU and got an earful. And then I went out last weekend, and EVERYONE is doing it around here. Again, I missed the cutting edge. But I'm pretty damned close. I reckon I should kick this habit before the powers that be tell me it's bad for me to stop.

My two cents...I would advise against doing both as a means toward quitting cthulu2016 Apr 2014 #1

Quit any way you can, even if that means vaping and patch and gum and lozenge and whatever.

Then—when 100% cigarette free for a while—worry about cutting back on those things, if you wish.

The easing from cigs to vape doesn't seem to work well, in that folks will cut down but not quit the cigs. I have seen too many people take up vaping with enthusiasm, but then after a while and then I never see them with their e-cig anymore and it's back to primarily cigs.

I guess what I am saying is that quitting smoking will never be (for a hard-core smoker) a tranquil transistion. No matter what, the cigs will have to be decisively quit at some point.

Good luck to you! (I'm coming up on about 16 months with zero cigs, but I use of any nicotine replacement I feel like it takes to not smoke. Smeday I may try to cut down nicotine conciously... but for now I am just about not ever smoking again.)

I had smoked forever and had quit any number of times but always gone back. By just vaping whenever I wanted to smoke, I was able to quit cigarettes for good 3+ years ago. I still vape, because it's just an alternative nicotine delivery system, but it's a lot less worrisome to me. I use the rechargeable kind that look like cigarettes, as I'm turned off by the other kind. I've tried several, but I've been staying with Eversmoke because they have the fewest impurities and use glycerine for the base instead of propylene glycol. Also, because the cartridges are loaded in the US instead of China. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Quitting's hard enough as it is, but ecigs cut me down to a carton a month rather than two.

keep it up! You can put down the cancer sticks for good.

Almost two years here with no cigs after a 30 year habit. Vaping works.

And frankly I am just forgetting about the gaping more and more.

Now I only hit the e-cig about 3-4 times a day (if I even remember).

It is just short of a miracle.

Way back when I smoked -decades now- those two things helped me stifle the urge. Nothing tastes crappier than a cigarette combined with orange juice. Same for a mouth full of pepperminty clean taste buds.
