Harry Reid Blasts Hayden For Saying Feinstein Is 'Too Emotional'

CAITLIN MACNEAL – APRIL 7, 2014, 2:41 PM EDT

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Monday criticized former CIA and National Security Agency director Gen. Michael Hayden for comments he made about Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).

On Sunday, Hayden said that Feinstein's March speech about the Senate investigation into the CIA's interrogation techniques was "emotional" and not necessarily "objective."

On the Senate floor Monday, Reid said that Hayden "condescendingly accused Sen. Dianne Feinstein of being too emotional."

"This woman has been an outstanding leader of that intelligence committee," Reid continued. "She has been fearless. She has been thorough and fair. And for this man to say that because she criticizes tactics led by General Hayden, that was torture, she's being too emotional. I don't think so. Does this sound like a person or a party that respects women?"

The 11 Dumbest Things Conservatives Have Said About Women
From Rush Limbaugh to the Pope, it's been one of the worst months ever for verbalized sexism.

I believe that the number is higher than this, but...

"Sex-Crazed Co-Eds..." "Lavishly contracepted." "What do you expect from a woman driver?" Women in the military should "expect" to be raped. In my day, "gals" used to put an "aspirin between their knees" Dana Loesch: Women already consented to be penetrated when they got pregnant. Booing birth control at the GOP debate. Democrats and Republicans sitting together is "like date rape." My wife won't sleep with me because of this ultrasound provision.

And two bonus round comments. 10. and 11. The Pope says couples who conceive using in vitro fertilization are arrogant while a DC blogger notes that lady journalists who are nice-looking in their Twitter avatars can't be serious.

The silver lining to all this obnoxiousness? "Pro-women" posturing from the GOP's extremist members has gone out the window. The fact that they hate us, and that underlies their policy, is now out in the air for all to see.

Another bonus round!!!! A twofer!

but I have to laugh at the idea that she might be considered "too emotional".

If she were any less emotional she would be a droid.

handle assignments like committee chair.

I think Hayden has provided us was a rare insight into the way he thinks.

Having seen DiFi up close in action at many stages of my life the last thing I'd accuse her of being is "emotional" in any professional position she's held.

Or at least the former head of the CIA, George H. W. Bush, used to cry at the drop of the hat, most notably when whining about the way people maligned his spawn. Not to mention the always blubbery Glenn Beck.
