Liz Cheney: Stop ‘political’ investigation of torture and focus more on Benghazi

.............................

Fox News contributor Liz Cheney on Sunday argued that a United States Senate report on Bush-era torture was “political” and that lawmakers should spend more time investigating President Barack Obama’s role in failing to prevent terrorist attacks in Benghazi.

Last week, the Senate Intelligence Committee voted 11-3 to request that the White House declassify parts of an investigation into the CIA’s enhanced interrogation program, whose chief backer in the Bush White House was former Vice President Dick Cheney.

“If you’re going to say that we should not have conducted the enhanced interrogation program, if you’re going to say that we shouldn’t have waterboarded three terrorists, then you’ve got to say that you’re willing to accept the consequences of that,” the former vice president’s daughter said on a Sunday morning Fox News panel. “You’ve got to be willing to say how many American lives would you have been willing to put at risk because you didn’t want to waterboard Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.”

Fox News political analyst Juan Williams quipped that Liz Cheney was the “good daughter,” but the American people had a right to know what the CIA was doing in their name, and if the techniques were effective.

Senate Report: Torture Didn't Work and YOUR DADDY & HIS MINIONS Lied About It

according to evidence uncovered by the SSCI, the agency may have tried to “minimize or sanitize that case” – in other words, to obstruct justice. “The documents initially make it seem like it was an accident,” a former official told McClatchy. “However, evidence pointed to what it actually was: willful negligence or even negligent homicide.”

...I think there is ample and compelling evidence to suggest that Dick was more than an ancillary player.

And I'm not pulling this out of Alex Jones' keister, either.

If that "outs" me as a "9-11 truther", then fine - I'm a 9-11 truther. And you know what? DAMNED PROUD OF IT.

...on both sides of the spectrum. You would expect this from Foxy News, but MSNBC has engaged in this, as well (see Rachel Maddow's recent coverage of Alex Jones (though I agree he's a charlatan) and dismissing of "conspiracy theories" contrary to the 9-11 commission report, which she was hawking on her show along with a comic book version of the same.) This is what the NYT tried to do to Abby Martin recently - mentioning that she's a "9-11 truther" - in a completely unrelated story.

Let us start there… (I will leave alone the fact that the administration was a fraudulent one, the result of a coup-de-etat. Let's start by comparing the non-scandal of Benghazi to the actual scandal of 9/11. Thank you, dear. The next time I want tripe, I will order it off the menu. Signed, me.

Apr 2014

The grand kids are getting older and are hearing of some of the evil shit that grand dad did and that mom may have known about...maybe the kids are even asking questions that make Liz squirm, just a little!

So, that could be the reason why grandpa Dick has been out and about trying to deflect some of the news about how he might have got off on ordering people to be tortured...but with the news of students walking out on him at AU and calling him a war criminal...loyal and faithful Liz is now popping up.

She's not directly implicated in what took place so she figures she can get out and start screaming Benghazi and everyone will forget about her dad and his little pain infliction fetish...but it ain't working and the very public battle with her sister hasn't helped Liz's image much.

In the mean time the kids/grand kids are still asking really uncomfortable questions and as they get older it'll get even worse...

They not only disregarded the extensive evidence of impending attacks that the Clinton administration warned them of, but demoted Clarke to shut him up so they could focused on their plans to invade Iraq. I lay a great deal of blame on the intelligence failure that resulted the destruction of the World Trade Center and the loss of thousands of lives directly on them. I am also cynical enough to believe that these criminals welcomed it as their Pearl Harbor excuse to take us to war on their lies. She is just as evil as her despicable father. She would be the perfect GOP vice-presidential nomine for Jeb since it looks like Jeb Bush will be a front runner for the GOP nomination for president.

Don't forget that Jeb was an important member of the Project for the Next American Century, PNAC, neo-cons who dominated the Bush Administration and were directly responsible for the Iraq war. If he is elected his neo-con cronies would once again dominate his administration and will be calling for the invasion of Iran and Syria.

It may very well be Armageddon.

Looks like the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. And it isn't JUST the water boarding of a few 'terrorists'. It was murder by torture, rape, sodomy, beatings, mostly of innocent people. Not to mention the terrorizing of children and old shephards with vicious dogs and isolation and on and on.

The very fact that SHE is trying to deflect from the exposures of these horrific crimes, is a good reason to keep on talking about them.

Particularly as screaming "Benghazi" doesn't seem to be working anymore.

I don't think the dick is ever going to see the inside of a prison cell, but it appears that liz doesn't have the poise that it will take to withstand all the publicity over the long haul. I foresee a very public meltdown in her future followed by an overdose or a stint at Betty Ford.
